Pioneer of a New Age

The iX was shown in 2021 but my work on the car started already in 2015 with early sketch ideations in the Advanced Design Team. In the pre-development 2016 I was working on the seats. The asymmetric seat design followed into the final product.

During approx. 2 intensive years (2017-2019) in parallel of designing the Vision iNEXT, I was supporting Simon Sebastian by designing details and b-surfaces.

The iX had a total new interior with no carry-over parts so everything had to be designed new. We had the opportunity to re-think everything such as the new design language, usage and choices of materials.

Being my first production interior, a big learning personally was also to be able to fulfill all requirements for manufacturing

My contribution to the interior was mainly B-surfaces and details:

• A/B/C-pillars
• Rear mirror + camera/sensor housing
• Belt integrations
• Roof + sun roof version
• Vents on all pillars
• Door flanges
• Speaker grills
• Complete trunk
• Floors + mats
